How to get a food parcel
If you are in need of a food parcel, we are happy to help you, if you live in Guildford or one of the surrounding villages. Please check our list of Other Food Banks to check to see if there is another food bank closer to you.
You just need to have a referral receive a food parcel from us.
The referral can be from any organisation you see on a day to day basis such as:
Your child’s school - often via the Home School Link Worker
Local churches, even if you are not a member of a church, you can still approach your local church for support
Your doctor’s surgery
Health Visitor
Age UK Surrey (over 50s only!)
Or from someone in an organisation who is currently supporting you:
Support worker
Case worker
Social Services
Guildford Action (for Families)
Guildford Borough Council - Family Support Team
Guildford Borough Council - Community Wellbeing Team
Youth Support Service
Probation Service
If you are not already seeking support from the Citizens Advice or CAP, they would love to support you, so do get in touch and they will be able to do refer you for a food parcel as well as providing expert advice to help you.
Please note that referrers may request evidence of your crisis before making a referral.
The referral deadline is 3pm on the day before our next session.
It is our hope that anyone asking for our help is able to move away from their crisis with time and the right support. As a guideline, we will provide up to an average of one food parcel a month over a 6 month period. We will contact you or your referrer if you seem to be needing our support on a longer term basis, to check on the support you are receiving and to see if we can signpost you to other agencies who can provide support appropriate to your needs.
If you aren’t able to make contact with a referral organisation, please email or call us using the details below. We prefer to receive requests from a referrer if at all possible.
